Accor Signs Creekside Hotel Dubai For MGallery Repositioning
Accor has signed the iconic Creekside Hotel in Dubai under a white-label franchise with United Hospitality Management, with plans to reposition the property into the MGallery Collection following a detailed renovation. Owned by Dubai Duty Free, the hotel sits in Al Garhoud beside the Aviation Club and the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, minutes from Dubai International Airport, Festival City Mall, the Gold Souk and Al Fahidi. Overlooking the historic Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, the address combines riverfront views with fast connections to business and leisure districts. The agreement underscores Accor’s strategy to pair story driven brands with assets of cultural and sporting significance in the UAE.
Featuring 292 rooms and suites with creek and city vistas, the hotel already reflects the MGallery ethos through an extensive art collection of roughly 482 commissioned works by 52 artists across public spaces, guestrooms and bespoke furnishings. Leisure and wellness include two outdoor pools with a rooftop deck looking into the atrium, the Akaru Spa with 14 treatment rooms, sauna and steam, and guest access to the Aviation Club Fitness Centre with gym, indoor squash courts, outdoor tennis courts and paddle courts. As the long time home of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium and the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, the site holds an outsized place in the city’s cultural fabric, offering year round activation that aligns with MGallery’s focus on storytelling and local character.
The transition begins under a white label arrangement to ensure operational continuity before a full brand immersion after the renovation. Development leaders including Jean-Baptiste Recher and Xavier Grange highlight the fit between the hotel’s legacy and MGallery’s collection model, while Klaus Assmann of United Hospitality Management and Ramesh Cidambi of Dubai Duty Free emphasize a shared vision to elevate guest journeys without losing the property’s sports and community DNA. With more than 85 hotels operating in the UAE across flags such as Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, MGallery Collection, Rixos, Swissôtel, Pullman, Mövenpick, Grand Mercure, Novotel, Mercure, ibis Styles and ibis, Accor reinforces its Dubai footprint by adding a creekside landmark that blends modern luxury, art, wellbeing and destination access.
