Campanile Clermont-Ferrand Riom has completed a full transformation and now operates under the Campanile NATURE label, introducing a new generation of nature-inspired midscale hospitality in central France. The project is part of Louvre Hotels Group's extensive modernization program as the second-largest hotel operator in France and Europe. Located within a multi-brand complex that brings together a Kyriad hotel, a Campanile hotel and two restaurants, the site is designed to serve both travellers and the local community. The revamped property combines contemporary comfort, sustainable features and a strong regional identity.

The Riom complex stands out as a one-of-a-kind multi-brand destination in Auvergne, uniting an 85-room Kyriad and a 51-room Campanile NATURE around shared facilities. Reception is centralized within the Kyriad building, which also houses the restaurant, bar and breakfast room, fostering smooth guest flows and operational synergies between the two brands. Driven by the strong performance of the Kyriad hotel and its restaurant Anémone (formerly Anémotel), the site is entering a new phase under the direction of Émilie Leclaire and Denis Leclaire, who bring fresh momentum and proven local expertise. Since September, the former Campanile wing has been under renovation to accommodate an extension of Pizzeria Angelo, already present on site and scheduled to open in December, further enhancing the appeal of this hospitality hub for both visitors and residents.

The renovation project was overseen by Laurent Héritier-Best, known for an innovative approach to hotel refurbishment and construction. Works included a complete modernization of guest rooms, the car park and landscaped grounds, all carried out exclusively by local companies from the Clermont area, underscoring a strong commitment to regional partnerships. The redesigned car park now offers 48 spaces, including four equipped with electric vehicle charging stations. Exterior improvements continue with a focus on integrating the site into its natural surroundings and supporting the pursuit of HSB (Hotel Sustainability Basics) certification, targeted for 2026, which is based on 12 criteria across efficiency, planet and people and promotes more sustainable, environmentally conscious hospitality.

Strategically positioned just 500 meters from exit 13 of the A71 highway, the complex benefits from a key crossroads location linking north and south, east and west. It serves as a convenient base for discovering the area’s cultural and natural assets, including the historic town of Riom with its architectural heritage, Clermont-Ferrand and its volcanic-stone cathedral, the UNESCO-listed Chaîne des Puys - Limagne Fault, Vulcania Park and the sweeping landscapes of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park. This positioning enables the hotel to attract stopover guests, leisure travellers and business visitors exploring the wider region.

Inside, the renewed Campanile Clermont-Ferrand Riom focuses on comfort, authenticity and simple pleasures, supported by a team of nearly 20 staff members. Rooms now feature comfort essentials developed by Louvre Hotels Group, including premium mattresses, plush pillows, 100% cotton duvets and massaging showerheads, designed to deliver restful stays for a wide range of guests. In the restaurant, breakfast showcases local products such as Auvergne cheeses and artisanal jams from Domaine de Baudry, alongside Campanile's signature brioche, handmade with 100% French ingredients. This emphasis on regional sourcing and generous, straightforward cuisine reflects the brand’s commitment to an authentic, gourmet experience deeply rooted in its territory.

For Louvre Hotels Group, the Riom project illustrates a broader strategy to enhance existing hotel assets while adapting them to new guest expectations and more sustainable practices. The group aims to renovate more than 160 owned hotels and 400 franchises by 2028, with the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region playing a central role through a network of over 100 establishments, including more than 40 Campanile hotels. The transformation of Campanile Clermont-Ferrand Riom into a Campanile NATURE property embodies this ambition, creating a modern, locally anchored and convivial destination that can cater to diverse types of clientele while strengthening the region’s attractiveness.
