Corinthia expands in Italy with Borgo di Perolla in Tuscany
Corinthia Hotels is strengthening its presence in Italy with the signing of Borgo di Perolla, Tuscany, a new luxury resort set to open in 2030. The project will become the group’s third property in the country and will transform a collection of historic buildings into a destination shaped by heritage, nature and contemporary elegance. Located in the Tuscan countryside near Massa Marittima, the future resort is designed to combine rural seclusion with access to some of the region’s most desirable attractions. The development also reflects Corinthia’s continued focus on distinctive, experience-led luxury hospitality in key international markets.
The new Corinthia Borgo di Perolla, Tuscany is being developed in partnership with Gaetano Buglisi and BGenera Group, with advisory support from Fortvny and Harry Mills Sciò. Set within the 13th-century Perolla Estate, the project occupies a 1,300-hectare landscape of sustainably managed woodland, vineyards and olive groves, enriched by historic sites and ancient trails. Its location places the resort within easy reach of the coast, the beaches of Castiglione della Pescaia and Punta Ala, as well as the area’s celebrated hot springs, giving the property a broad destination appeal rooted in both landscape and heritage.
Designed by Milan-based alErta design studio, the resort will sensitively restore and repurpose a collection of period structures into a refined, village-style retreat. The hotel will feature 80 keys, including suites and private villas, all organised around a lively central piazza intended to encourage connection and conviviality. Food and beverage will play a central role in the guest experience, with a curated selection of restaurants and amenities built around local cuisine, seasonal produce and a strong farm-to-table philosophy. That culinary direction will be supported by organic farming on the estate and ingredients produced locally, including olive oil, wine and honey, creating a hospitality experience closely tied to the rhythms of Tuscany.
The wider offer will extend beyond accommodation and dining. Plans also include dedicated wellness and event spaces, as well as a restored historic chapel for weddings and private celebrations. A branded residential component will further enhance the project’s role as a long-term lifestyle destination, broadening its relevance beyond traditional resort stays. For Corinthia Hotels, the signing is not simply another addition to the pipeline, but a strategic step in expanding its Italian portfolio following the opening of Corinthia Rome in March 2026 and ahead of the planned launch of Corinthia Lake Como in 2028. In that context, Borgo di Perolla, Tuscany is being positioned as a new benchmark for luxury hospitality in one of Italy’s most culturally and visually resonant regions.
