Corinthia Hotels is set to enter China with the signing of Corinthia Chengdu, a major new project scheduled to open in 2032. Developed in partnership with ShiLong Industry Co and The Geminus Group, the hotel will mark an important step in the brand’s continued international expansion. The project will rise in Chengdu’s Gaoxin District, one of the city’s key high-tech and commercial areas. With a mix of hotel accommodation and branded residences, the development is being positioned as a new luxury hospitality destination in the city.

Corinthia Chengdu will form part of a new 225-metre mixed-use tower located at the intersection of Tianfu Avenue and Tianfu First Street, beside the Gui Xi urban park. According to the announcement, the hotel will include around 150 rooms and suites, along with 60 branded residences, all designed to offer wide panoramic views across Chengdu. The wider development is already under construction and is planned as a large-scale destination combining luxury retail, residential and commercial elements, with a total investment of about RMB 4.0 billion. The project is intended to reflect both contemporary luxury and sustainability, while responding to the scale and ambition of one of China’s most dynamic urban markets.

The new hotel is expected to embody Corinthia’s “grand boutique” concept, combining the scale of a landmark property with a more intimate, service-led guest experience. The brand says the project will bring its Mediterranean spirit to a new audience while connecting international travelers with the cultural depth and creative energy of Chengdu. The development is also significant because it introduces Corinthia to Central China, while strengthening the company’s longer-term position in the country. The release identifies Simon Naudi, XIAO Miaomiao, and Anthony Bailey as key figures linked to the project and its strategic importance. The announcement also notes that Corinthia is continuing to explore additional opportunities across China as part of a carefully phased expansion strategy, underlining the group’s broader commitment to the market.
