Danubius Hotels Zrt. is expanding its hotel portfolio through a new international franchise partnership with Radisson Hotel Group. Under the agreement, the recently refurbished Hotel Erzsébet in Budapest will join Radisson Individuals, marking the brand’s first appearance in Hungary. The 126-room property will continue operating under the name Hotel Erzsébet City Center Budapest, a member of Radisson Individuals, starting at the end of summer 2026. The move strengthens Danubius Hotels’ position as one of Hungary’s leading hotel operators and expands its portfolio to 16 hotels across five brands.

The agreement marks another step in Danubius Hotels’ long-term growth strategy. The company is combining the development of its own hotel brands with the operation of internationally recognized hospitality brands. By adding Radisson Individuals, Danubius broadens its brand platform while maintaining the distinctive identity of a well-located Budapest hotel.

Hotel Erzsébet City Center Budapest will remain open and operate as usual until the rebranding takes effect. The transition is expected to begin in late summer 2026, when the property formally joins Radisson Individuals. This allows the hotel to preserve continuity for guests while gaining access to the international reach, distribution strength and brand recognition of Radisson Hotel Group.

The property’s positioning fits the profile of Radisson Individuals, a brand designed for independent hotels that want to retain their own character while becoming part of a wider global network. For Hotel Erzsébet, this means maintaining its local identity and city-centre relevance while connecting to an internationally recognized platform. The arrangement gives the hotel greater visibility among global leisure, cultural and business travellers.

The rebranding also reinforces Budapest’s role as one of Central Europe’s attractive hospitality markets. The city continues to draw demand from leisure guests, cultural visitors and business travellers. A centrally located hotel under an international soft brand can benefit from this mix while offering travellers a recognizable booking and loyalty framework.

For Danubius Hotels, the agreement builds on a long history of working with international hotel brands in Hungary. The company already operates Hilton Budapest and Radisson Blu Béke Hotel, alongside its Danubius and Ensana properties. The addition of Hotel Erzsébet City Center Budapest, a member of Radisson Individuals, means the group now operates five international hotel brands across its portfolio.

The company’s history gives the new partnership additional context. Danubius Hotels introduced the first Hilton hotel in the Central and Eastern European region to Hungary, as well as the country’s first Radisson hotel. Bringing Radisson Individuals to Hungary continues that pattern of connecting the local market with international hospitality brands.

Balázs Kovács, CEO of Danubius Hotels Zrt., is linked with the company’s view that the agreement reflects international confidence in Danubius as a reliable long-term operating partner. The partnership creates new opportunities for Hotel Erzsébet to reach guests across global markets while continuing its role within the Budapest hotel landscape.

David Jenkins, Vice President, Development Eastern Europe at Radisson Hotel Group, is associated with the brand’s confidence in Budapest and in the ability of Radisson Individuals to support distinctive independent hotels. The agreement shows how the brand can help well-positioned properties keep their character while accessing the commercial advantages of a larger international hotel group.

Danubius Hotels is owned by CP Holdings Ltd., a UK-based company with hotel interests across six European countries. Since 2019, the group’s city hotels have operated under the Danubius Hotels brand, while its health and wellness properties have been organized under the Ensana brand. With more than half a century of history, Danubius Hotels remains closely connected with some of Hungary’s established urban hospitality assets.

The addition of Hotel Erzsébet City Center Budapest, a member of Radisson Individuals, gives Danubius Hotels another international brand in its operating portfolio and brings a new Radisson soft-brand concept to the Hungarian market. For Radisson Hotel Group, the signing extends Radisson Individuals into Hungary for the first time. For Budapest, the move adds another internationally connected hotel product to a city-centre market shaped by culture, business travel and strong visitor demand.
