Gateway Yeshwantpur strengthens IHCL’s Bengaluru pipeline
Indian Hotels Company Limited has announced the signing of a new Gateway hotel in Yeshwantpur, Bengaluru, reinforcing its presence in one of India’s most important lodging markets. The 283-key Gateway Yeshwantpur, Bengaluru will be developed as a brownfield project and is expected to be completed within 24 months. The signing also deepens IHCL’s partnership with Naveen Hotels, marking the third hotel through this association. With dining venues, extensive banqueting space, meeting rooms, a fitness centre and swimming pool, the project is positioned to serve the growing commercial demand of North Bengaluru.
The new Gateway Yeshwantpur, Bengaluru adds another full-service hotel to IHCL’s expanding footprint in the city. Bengaluru, widely known as the Silicon Valley of India, remains one of the country’s most dynamic urban economies, supported by a strong technology ecosystem, entrepreneurial activity and corporate travel demand. Within this market, Yeshwantpur is identified as a key commercial micro-market, making it a strategic location for a new branded hotel.
The project is described as a brownfield development, meaning it will build on an existing asset or site rather than starting entirely from scratch. According to the announcement, construction of the joint development project is expected to be completed in 24 months.
The hotel will feature 283 keys, giving it significant scale for both transient and group demand. This room count positions the property to serve business travellers, corporate groups, meetings, events and guests moving through North Bengaluru. The Gateway brand’s full-service positioning also supports the needs of travellers seeking comfort, convenience and reliable hospitality in a commercially active district.
Food and beverage will be an important part of the hotel’s offer. Gateway Yeshwantpur, Bengaluru will include an all-day diner, a specialty restaurant, a bar and lounge, and a pool bar. This mix gives the property flexibility across different guest occasions, from breakfast and business meals to evening socialising and leisure time by the pool.
The all-day diner will provide the daily foundation of the hotel’s dining experience, while the specialty restaurant will allow the property to create a more distinctive culinary identity. The announcement also links the project to the R.N. Shetty Group, a diversified Indian business conglomerate founded in 1961 by Dr. Rama Nagappa Shetty. Headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, the group operates across construction, hospitality, automotive dealerships, manufacturing, power generation and education. Its background gives the project a local ownership context rooted in Karnataka’s business environment.
For IHCL, the signing is part of a larger expansion story in Bengaluru. With the addition of this hotel, the company will have 21 hotels in Bengaluru, including 12 under development. This makes the city one of IHCL’s most significant urban markets and reflects the depth of demand across multiple micro-markets.
The choice of Gateway is also significant. The brand has been reimagined by IHCL as a full-service hotel concept designed to act as a gateway to exceptional destinations. In Yeshwantpur, the brand can serve both the functional needs of a business district and the broader expectation for warm Indian hospitality, efficient service and locally relevant experiences.
