Hilton brings flagship resort hospitality to Chania
Hilton has announced the opening of Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa, bringing the Hilton Hotels & Resorts flagship brand to Chania, Greece. The year-round waterfront urban resort introduces 85 rooms and suites, each with a private balcony and heated pool. Located five minutes’ walk from the entrance to the Old Town and 20 minutes from the airport, the property places guests close to one of Crete’s most historic and culturally rich destinations. With sea views, wellness facilities, dining concepts and event spaces, the resort is positioned as a new hospitality landmark on the island.
Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa marks a significant return for the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand in Greece. Set along the Aegean Sea, the property combines the service standards of Hilton’s flagship brand with the atmosphere of Chania’s historic coastline. The resort is designed to serve both leisure and business travellers throughout the year, supporting the destination’s ambition to attract international guests beyond the traditional summer season.
The location gives the hotel strong appeal for guests who want immediate access to Chania’s Old Town, cultural landmarks and waterfront atmosphere. The property is close enough for visitors to explore the historic centre on foot, while also offering resort-style privacy, views and wellness facilities. This combination of urban convenience and coastal relaxation gives the hotel a distinctive position within the Crete hotel market.
Accommodation at Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa is built around privacy and indoor-outdoor living. The 85 rooms and suites each include a private balcony with a heated pool, while selected rooms also feature in-room saunas and sweeping views of the Aegean Sea. This creates a highly residential feel, where guests can relax in private spaces while staying connected to the sea and surrounding landscape.
Beyond the guestrooms, the resort offers a heated rooftop infinity pool overlooking the coastline, a botanical garden with panoramic sunset views, a fully equipped spa and wellness centre, and modern fitness facilities. These amenities support the hotel’s positioning as a serene retreat above the city. The resort is also designed with spaces that encourage connection, relaxation and social gathering throughout the day.
Food and beverage is a central part of the guest experience. Poème de la Canée serves as a lively all-day dining destination across two levels, combining Mediterranean flavours, signature cocktails, live music and a social atmosphere. Céleste, located above the city, offers a rooftop experience with a heated infinity pool, all-day dishes, bar bites and signature drinks overlooking the Aegean Sea.
The resort also introduces Fauchon Café Pâtisserie to Greece, bringing the French brand’s pastries, desserts, gourmet sandwiches and five o’clock tea experience to the hotel lobby. With access from both the main street and inside the hotel, the café is designed as a natural meeting point before guests head out to explore Chania’s Old Town. The C Bar completes the evening offer with aged spirits, premium cigars and a sea-facing lounge setting.
For quieter moments, Little Galaxy provides an open-air rooftop botanical garden planted with Cretan herbs. The space offers sunset views over the water and the Old Town, while also serving as an intimate setting for receptions and private events of up to 120 guests. This adds another layer to the hotel’s event and social offer, connecting nature, views and hospitality in a relaxed outdoor environment.
Wellbeing is led by L'Occitane en Provence Spa, an international wellness concept inspired by the natural beauty and sensory traditions of Provence. The spa includes four treatment rooms for face and body therapies, alongside a hammam, saunas, steam baths and relaxation areas. Guests can also use an indoor heated pool filled with natural light, an outdoor heated pool with sea views and a fitness centre equipped with modern technology and personalised training programmes.
The hotel also includes flexible event spaces and modern conference infrastructure. This allows Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa to host weddings, conferences, corporate meetings, retreats and international gatherings throughout the year. Its 365-day operating model gives the property relevance beyond seasonal leisure travel, helping position Chania as a more complete destination for meetings, celebrations and premium hospitality.
The opening is connected with Tsiledakis Group, with Lambros Tsiledakis, Vice President of Development and Operations, associated with the long-term investment vision behind the project. David Kelly, Senior Vice President, Continental Europe at Hilton, is linked with the brand’s return to Greece and the company’s continued growth across the country, where Hilton now has more than 50 hotels open across a wide range of brands.
As part of Hilton Honors, guests at Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa can access benefits when booking through preferred Hilton channels, including member discounts, standard Wi-Fi and digital tools through the Hilton Honors mobile app. With private pools in every room, a strong culinary programme, a branded spa, rooftop experiences and a historic location close to Chania’s Old Town, the resort adds a new year-round luxury address to Crete’s hospitality landscape.
