Hilton to Debut Waldorf Astoria in Turks and Caicos with 2028 Dellis Cay Opening
Hilton has announced the signing of a landmark branding and management agreement to introduce the Waldorf Astoria Turks and Caicos Dellis Cay, marking the brand’s debut in the region. Slated to open in 2028, the ultra-luxury resort will be located on the exclusive Dellis Cay, blending natural seclusion with Waldorf Astoria’s timeless elegance. This project highlights Hilton’s continued commitment to expanding its luxury portfolio across the Caribbean and Latin America.
Hilton is set to redefine high-end hospitality in the Caribbean with the signing of Waldorf Astoria Turks and Caicos Dellis Cay, a forthcoming ultra-luxury resort and branded residence community. Opening in 2028, the property will be the brand’s first in Turks and Caicos, situated on the serene and unspoiled Dellis Cay—a low-density island renowned for its privacy, turquoise waters, and proximity to the U.S. East Coast.
A collaboration with Desarrollos Hotelco, this milestone represents a significant addition to Hilton’s growing luxury portfolio. Guests will access the retreat via a picturesque 25-minute boat ride from Providenciales, setting the tone for an experience rooted in exclusivity and tranquillity. The resort will span over three miles of untouched beachfront, providing an idyllic canvas for Waldorf Astoria’s signature combination of architectural elegance and natural integration.
The property will feature 175 keys, including 62 guest rooms and suites and 10 beachfront bungalows with private terraces and plunge pools. The remaining units will consist of Waldorf Astoria Residences, including 65 private condos and villas, such as six-bedroom oceanfront villas and five-bedroom beachfront villas, crafted to offer exceptional flexibility and luxury for long-term stays and ownership.
The design philosophy emphasizes seamless harmony with the island’s lush landscape. Standalone structures will be artfully integrated with native vegetation and white-sand shorelines, ensuring a deep visual and environmental connection throughout the resort. Each building will reflect a curated blend of modern sophistication and Caribbean soul.
On-site amenities will include a 13,455-square-foot spa, 1,600-square-foot fitness center, library, high-end retail outlets, adult and family pools, and a ballroom and boardroom for hosting private events. Culinary options will be led by Peacock Alley, the brand’s signature lounge space, alongside an all-day dining venue, a specialty restaurant, and a beach and poolside grill.
According to Pablo Maturana, Vice President of Development, Caribbean and Latin America at Hilton, the project is a strategic step in Hilton’s plan to nearly double its Caribbean portfolio, which already includes over 45 operational hotels and 135 properties in the pipeline. Dino Michael, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Hilton Luxury Brands, emphasized that the resort will uphold the Waldorf Astoria legacy of refined service, exquisite design, and meaningful guest experiences.
This development adds to Waldorf Astoria’s fast-growing presence in Latin America, joining existing properties in Los Cabos, Cancun, and Panama, with upcoming openings in Costa Rica (2025) and San Miguel de Allende (2027). The brand also continues to expand its residences portfolio, which now includes over 20 projects globally.
Waldorf Astoria Turks and Caicos Dellis Cay is poised to become a landmark of luxury in the Caribbean, appealing to a new wave of global travellers seeking privacy, elegance, and personalized service.
