Hyatt Hotels Corporation has opened Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve, adding a new Hyatt Regency address in Portugal and strengthening its presence in the Algarve. The property is the rebranded former Dom Pedro Vilamoura and is now managed by DETAILS - Hospitality, Sports, Leisure, the management platform of Arrow Global in Portugal. Set steps from the marina and close to beaches including Praia da Falésia, Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve anchors its location advantage around the area’s golf and outdoor lifestyle. The hotel highlights proximity to leading courses such as The Els Club Vilamoura, Old Course Vilamoura, Pinhal Golf Course Vilamoura, Laguna Golf Course Vilamoura, and Millennium Golf Course Vilamoura, positioning itself as a convenient base for golf-focused itineraries as well as family and wellness stays. Manuel Melenchon links the opening to Hyatt’s broader brand growth strategy in Portugal and Southern Europe, emphasizing a guest experience built around contemporary design, service, and active leisure.

Accommodation spans 257 guestrooms and 21 suites across six categories, with interiors designed to reflect modern Algarvian heritage through region-inspired colours and materials. The in-room offer includes wireless high-speed internet, keyless entry, screen-sharing technology, and deluxe bath amenities, supporting guests who expect both comfort and connectivity. On the culinary side, the hotel’s dining and bar lineup is designed to cover premium occasions and relaxed poolside moments, led by Brasa Coastal Steakhouse with charcoal-grilled meats and seafood, Terrace Pool Bar for cocktails and light bites, and Lume Lounge Bar as a social hub with daily entertainment.

For meetings and celebrations, the property offers 10,688 square feet (993 square meters) of flexible event space, including six conference rooms and a ballroom designed to host up to 300 attendees. The leisure and wellness mix is extensive, with a fitness centre featuring Technogym equipment, an indoor heated pool, outdoor yoga areas, and a racket centre with padel and pickleball courts, plus mini golf, petanque, and beach volleyball. The spa includes an indoor pool, sauna, whirlpool, and three treatment rooms, while families are supported with a Kids Club and playground. Javier Soler Muñoz positions the hotel as a contemporary interpretation of the Algarve’s spirit, combining energizing spaces with destination-led experiences.

Beyond the resort, guests are within easy reach of the Roman Ruins of Cerro da Vila and the town of Loulé, known for its traditional market and seasonal festivals, adding cultural depth to a stay that can balance relaxation and exploration. Francisco Moser notes that aligning with a globally recognized brand is intended to further reinforce Vilamoura and the Algarve within the premium tourism segment, linking hospitality with sports and leisure-led demand drivers.
