IHG brings four hotel brands to Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio
IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to introduce four international hotel brands to Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio in Ho Chi Minh City, marking a major step in the development of the large-scale coastal project. Under a new strategic partnership with developer Cangio Tourist City Corporation, IHG will develop a portfolio of more than 1,000 rooms across InterContinental Saigon Can Gio, Crowne Plaza Saigon Can Gio, Holiday Inn Express Saigon Can Gio and Garner Hotel Saigon Can Gio. The deal also represents the official market debut in Vietnam for both Holiday Inn Express and Garner. For IHG, the agreement further strengthens its position in one of Southeast Asia’s most active hospitality growth markets.
The new portfolio will include 400 rooms at InterContinental Saigon Can Gio, 400 rooms at Crowne Plaza Saigon Can Gio, and 130 rooms each at Holiday Inn Express Saigon Can Gio and Garner Hotel Saigon Can Gio. According to the announcement, the two select-service brands are expected to begin operations in 2028, followed by the openings of InterContinental and Crowne Plaza in 2030. The project is being managed and executed by Vinpearl, a member of Vingroup, which is coordinating the collaboration with IHG throughout development and operations. Together, the four hotels are expected to support a wider 7,000-room accommodation ecosystem at Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio, designed to capture year-round demand for longer, experience-led stays in Can Gio and Ho Chi Minh City.
The hotel component forms part of a much broader destination strategy. Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio will also feature a 122-hectare VinWonders theme park with nearly 200 attractions, the 5,000-seat Song Xanh Theater, the 800-hectare Paradise Lagoon, the five-star international cruise port Landmark Harbour, and two 18-hole international-standard golf courses. The development spans 2,870 hectares in southeastern Ho Chi Minh City, bordered by the sea on three sides and located next to the UNESCO-recognised Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve. Strong transport links are also central to the project’s positioning, including the planned Ben Thanh - Can Gio high-speed railway, Can Gio Bridge, and other road connections intended to improve access from central Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding tourism hubs.
For IHG Hotels & Resorts, the agreement adds scale in a country where the company already has 23 open hotels and a pipeline of 20 more properties. At the same time, the partnership gives Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio a globally recognised brand mix across luxury, premium and select-service segments, helping broaden its appeal to both domestic and international travellers. Within the context of Vietnam’s tourism ambitions, the project stands out as a large-scale attempt to combine branded hotels, leisure infrastructure and transport connectivity in one integrated coastal destination.
