IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed Holiday Inn Express Surat Gauravpath, marking the group’s first project in Surat and expanding its reach into one of India’s fastest-growing commercial markets. Scheduled to open in 2029, the 110-key hotel will target rising business travel and transit demand in the city. The new property will be developed under a management agreement with Yashvi Greenco LLP and will form part of a mixed-use project in the rapidly expanding Gauravpath corridor. The signing also underlines IHG’s continued focus on high-growth secondary and emerging commercial cities in India.

With Holiday Inn Express Surat Gauravpath, IHG Hotels & Resorts is bringing its largest and fastest-growing brand into a city widely known as the Diamond City. According to the announcement, Holiday Inn Express now has more than 3,200 hotels globally, and the brand’s Generation 5 design continues to shape a proposition built around efficient stays, flexible workspaces and refreshed interiors suited to both business and leisure guests. In Surat, that formula is being positioned as a strong match for a market supported by sustained industrial growth, expanding infrastructure and increasing demand from corporate, SME and transit travellers. The location in the Gauravpath corridor is especially significant because it places the hotel in one of the city’s most active development zones, where infrastructure momentum is helping create stronger demand for branded accommodation.

The signing also fits into the wider growth story of IHG in India. The company said it currently operates 51 hotels across six brands in the country and has a pipeline of 89 more hotels expected to open over the next three to five years. In that context, the Surat agreement is more than a single new opening. It is part of a broader strategy to deepen IHG’s footprint in markets where long-term commercial activity, improving connectivity and stronger demand for reliable branded hospitality are creating new opportunities. For Yashvi Greenco LLP, the partnership is intended to combine the city’s strong economic fundamentals with the international recognition of Holiday Inn Express, creating a hotel designed to become a preferred address for modern travellers in Surat
