IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to bring its acclaimed Kimpton brand to Indonesia for the first time, marking a strategic expansion of its luxury and lifestyle portfolio in Southeast Asia. The upcoming Kimpton Bali Ubud, scheduled to open in early 2026, will also become IHG’s first property in Bali’s cultural heart, Ubud, further diversifying the group’s presence in one of Asia’s most iconic travel destinations.

Located along the sacred WOS River and within walking distance of the historic Ubud Palace, the new hotel will comprise 101 thoughtfully designed rooms infused with Kimpton’s signature style, embracing the lush natural surroundings and cultural vibrancy of Ubud. As a globally recognized brand known for its human-centric hospitality, curated design, and immersive lifestyle experiences, Kimpton's arrival in Bali is poised to resonate strongly with culturally curious and design-savvy travellers.

A standout feature of the property will be IMAMURA, a refined Japanese restaurant created in partnership with GHS K.K. Led by Michelin-starred Chef Imamura, the restaurant will offer guests a culinary experience that harmoniously blends traditional Japanese techniques with modern innovation—adding a new dimension to Ubud’s dynamic food scene.

Kimpton Bali Ubud will also feature three distinctive restaurants, a café/deli, a full-service spa, fitness centre, and swimming pool, reflecting the brand’s ethos of delivering both cultural immersion and personal wellness. This opening comes as IHG continues to expand its presence in Indonesia, with 31 hotels currently open and 11 more in the pipeline, including Regent Bali Canggu and Six Senses Uluwatu.

Founded in 1981 by Bill Kimpton, the brand has established a strong identity in cities across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, with properties like Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, Kimpton Kitalay Samui, and upcoming locations including Kimpton Kuala Lumpur, Frankfurt, Riyadh, and Hong Kong. The Bali debut strengthens Kimpton’s footprint in Asia and highlights IHG’s commitment to delivering luxury lifestyle offerings in top-tier destinations.
