Jumeirah Mallorca to reopen on 14 March with an eclipse-led summer programme
Jumeirah Mallorca will reopen for the summer season on 14 March, welcoming guests back to its clifftop setting above Port de Sóller. The hotel is framing summer 2026 around rare celestial timing, anchored by a total solar eclipse on 12 August that places the property within the path of totality. Alongside the eclipse moment, the season will feature culture-rich experiences designed to connect visitors with Mallorca’s landscapes. Rates for the season are set to start from EUR 600 per night.
Set between the UNESCO-listed Serra de Tramuntana and the Mediterranean Sea, Jumeirah Mallorca is positioning its 2026 reopening around a mix of astronomy, gastronomy, and wellbeing, using the island’s natural drama as the main stage. The centrepiece is a four-day celestial celebration running from 10 to 14 August, built entirely around the eclipse and structured so guests can shape their own itinerary from morning to late evening.
From 10 August, the hotel will introduce an Astronomy Masterclass delivered in exclusive collaboration with Mallorca’s island-based Astronomy Institute. The programme is designed to give guests expert context on the science and spectacle of the eclipse, supported by advanced solar telescopes and guided viewing.
On the night of the eclipse, the hotel plans to open the evening with a lunar-inspired cocktail reception staged 100 metres above the sea, before moving into a dining-and-entertainment format under the stars. As the eclipse unfolds, specialists from the Astronomy Institute will provide live commentary and guidance during the viewing, positioning the moment as both an educational and celebratory experience.
Food is set to play a major role in the eclipse itinerary, with guests offered a choice between two dining journeys. One is a Mediterranean gala dinner at Cap Roig, focused on seasonal ingredients from the region. The second is refined Nikkei cuisine at the Sunset Lounge, presented against a night-sky panorama.
Beyond eclipse week, the hotel is also spotlighting tailor-made experiences meant to extend stays and deepen destination engagement. These include private yacht journeys along the island’s north-western coast, gastronomy experiences set within ancient olive groves, and restorative wellness rituals intended to help guests ground and reconnect during the peak summer period.
