Kempinski breaks ground with flagship Kempinski Grace Bay Resort and Residences
Kempinski Hotels has started construction on Kempinski Grace Bay in Providenciales, bringing the brand’s European pedigree to Turks and Caicos on the island’s iconic Grace Bay Beach. Developed with JTRE, the low-density project spans 11 acres and is positioned as a new benchmark for luxury living and hospitality in the Caribbean. The groundbreaking gathered national leaders and brand executives, underscoring the destination’s momentum and investor appeal. Completion is targeted for 2028, with sales represented by Christie’s International Real Estate Turks & Caicos and Engel & Völkers Turks & Caicos.
Set beside turquoise water and white sand, the development introduces a collection of 119 private residences and four oceanfront villas, all oriented toward panoramic sea views. Architecture and interiors use limestone, timber and expanses of glass to blend indoor and outdoor living, while native landscaping and recycled-water irrigation align with the island’s ecology. An amenity program features fine dining, a beach club, a 3,000 square foot wine cellar, a European spa, an ocean-view fitness area, tennis and padel courts, a children’s club, and a private dock-inspired arrival experience. Energy efficiency measures include insulated glazing and integrated solar systems to reduce operational load.
The project extends Kempinski’s 128-year legacy to a new market and deepens the brand’s Americas footprint under Group CEO Barbara Muckermann. It also advances JTRE’s international portfolio led regionally by Marek Baca, with a team focused on design excellence and environmental stewardship. Dignitaries at the ceremony included Honourable Charles Washington Misick, Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands, Her Excellency Anya Williams, Deputy Governor, Hon. Zhivargo Jolly, Minister of Tourism, and Christophe Piffaretti, Chief Development Officer at Kempinski Hotels, signaling government and private sector alignment around high-value tourism. Construction continues through 2026, with phased progress toward opening in 2028.
With a prime beachfront site, curated residences, and a service platform rooted in European craft, Kempinski Grace Bay is set to become a flagship for the brand and a catalyst for the island’s next chapter. For prospective owners, the scheme offers branded privacy, extensive resort privileges, and access to one of the world’s most celebrated shorelines in an asset designed for long-term value and low visual impact.
