The opening of Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur marks the debut of the Kimpton brand in Malaysia, adding fresh lifestyle energy to the capital’s Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) district. Part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, the new hotel positions itself at the intersection of business, fashion and culture in Kuala Lumpur’s new financial hub. Owned by LQ Hotel Sdn Bhd, a joint venture between Lendlease and TRX City Sdn Bhd, the property is conceived as a place where local instinct and urban joy meet. With design, dining and wellness all tightly curated, the hotel is targeting both global travelers and a discerning local crowd.

Rising above The Exchange TRX mall, Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur offers 466 guestrooms and suites spread across 26 floors, many with views of city landmarks such as Merdeka 118 and KL Tower. Inside the rooms, monolithic surfaces, curved forms and abstract art inspired by Malaysian rainforests are offset by bold tiles, leaf shaped mirrors and sculptural bathroom fittings, reinforcing the hotel’s expressive, design driven identity. Luxury bath amenities from ARgENTUM and Penhaligon’s, together with a minibar stocked with local favourites such as Pandan Gula Melaka granola, salted egg yolk potato crisps and Pasa Cola, underline a strong sense of place and premium positioning.

The overall design direction, led by award winning studio Hassell, follows a narrative of "Botanics Beyond Aesthetics", bringing references to Malaysia’s lush parklands into high ceilinged public spaces and guest areas. Earthy tones, deep greens and organic textures are layered with contemporary lines to create a lobby and social zones that feel both urban and nature linked. Throughout the hotel, art, materials and lighting are used to echo the transformation of TRX into a lifestyle and business hub while keeping the interiors warm and approachable rather than purely corporate.

Food and drink are central to the concept, with four distinct venues designed to become destinations in their own right. Tuai + Till operates as a dual dining space, pairing a relaxed Malaysian café experience at Tuai with a more polished Western brasserie at Till, both built around farm to table and fermentation led menus. Four Siblings is introduced as Malaysia’s first spice themed bar and TRX’s only rooftop bar, taking inspiration from the historic spice trade and using cinnamon, clove, cardamom and star anise to bridge Malaysian and South American influences in its cocktails. On the ground, Rise & Grind offers a grab and go espresso bar that blends third wave coffee craft with Malaysia’s kopitiam traditions, spotlighting homegrown Liberica beans. Rounding out the line up, Sabato’s is slated to open in early 2026 as a retro inspired Italian American venue that nods to 1970s disco culture and classic red sauce joints.

True to the brand’s playbook, Kimpton layers in signature touches that emphasise human, unscripted hospitality. Every room includes an in room yoga mat, while complimentary bicycles are available for urban exploration. The daily Kimpton Kickstart ritual provides guests with morning energisers such as Liberica cold brew coffee, teh tarik and detox shots, and the evening Kimpton Social invites them to connect over drinks and chef curated bites. The "Forgot It? We’ve Got It!" programme offers a curated selection of practical items on demand, from chargers to personal care products, designed to remove small frictions from the stay.

Wellness is treated as a broad, lifestyle driven offering rather than confined to a traditional gym. Guestroom minibars are stocked with prebiotic drinks, protein bars and healthy nut mixes to support wellbeing on the go. On the rooftop, the Pulse fitness centre introduces TRX suspension training, a self powered performance treadmill and complimentary group sessions with expert instructors, ranging from Pilates and high intensity interval training to sunrise yoga overlooking the city. For small events, launches and social occasions, the Connection Hub is scheduled to open in early 2026, providing five flexible spaces designed for intimate, experience led functions.

With Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur, IHG Hotels & Resorts strengthens its luxury and lifestyle footprint in Southeast Asia and extends Kimpton’s reach following recent openings in Frankfurt, Riyadh, Hainan, the Algarve and Hong Kong, with Kimpton Suntaya Bali Ubud among the pipeline additions. Tapping into TRX’s emergence as Kuala Lumpur’s flagship mixed use district, the hotel is positioned as a high visibility flagship for the brand in Malaysia, promising design forward stays, destination dining and wellness experiences that plug directly into the city’s evolving cultural and commercial landscape.
