Kimpton El Castelar Polanco is now open in Mexico City, bringing a new boutique hotel to the heart of the Polanquito neighbourhood. The 34-room property is part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio and occupies the historic Roel Building at Emilio Castelar 107 Colonia Polanco. Originally opened in 1940 and designed by renowned architect Francisco J. Serrano, the building has been reimagined as a design-led hospitality address. The opening gives Kimpton another distinctive presence in one of Mexico City’s most refined urban districts.
Located steps from Masaryk Avenue, Auditorio Nacional, Chapultepec Castle and the Archaeological Museum, Kimpton El Castelar Polanco places guests close to some of the city’s leading cultural, retail and leisure destinations. The hotel brings new life to a preserved architectural landmark. The Roel Building dates back to the Mexican Art Nouveau period and reflects the work of Francisco J.
