Oberoi Group expands in Rishikesh with two new luxury resorts
he Oberoi Group has announced the development of two new luxury resorts in Rishikesh as part of its strategic expansion. The first will be an exclusive 80-key Oberoi “Vilas” Resort, offering unparalleled luxury and personalized service, while the second will be a 120-key five-star hotel under the Trident brand. Both properties will be managed by EIH Limited, the flagship company of The Oberoi Group.
The two resorts will be built on a 60-acre site surrounded by the Ganges River on three sides, offering an unparalleled retreat near Rishikesh. The Oberoi Resort, carrying the prestigious “Vilas” branding, will be designed to provide an ultra-luxury experience, while the Trident hotel will cater to travelers seeking high-end comfort with world-class amenities. Both properties are owned and developed by Devprayag Ganges Resorts Pvt Ltd. and Jamuna Hotel Enterprises Pvt Ltd., subsidiaries of The Ladhani Group.
To ensure a seamless blend of nature, spirituality, and luxury, world-renowned architect Bill Bensley has been entrusted with designing the resorts. His expertise in crafting unique, immersive hospitality experiences will play a key role in integrating the properties harmoniously with the surrounding Himalayan landscape.
These new resorts form part of EIH Ltd.'s larger expansion strategy, which includes 16 new hotels, two luxury boats, and a Nile cruiser, all set for completion by 2029. The company’s financial growth remains strong, with its highest-ever Q3 performance. EIH Ltd. reported standalone revenue of ₹722 crore and consolidated revenue of ₹831 crore, with EBITDA increasing to ₹330 crore and ₹388 crore, respectively. Additionally, the company saw an 18% and 21% increase in standalone and consolidated PAT, further cementing its leadership in the luxury hospitality sector.
Mr. S.N. Ladhani, Chairman of The Ladhani Group, emphasized the cultural and natural significance of Rishikesh, highlighting the collaboration with The Oberoi Group as a pivotal moment in luxury hospitality. He noted that the project would be led by his grandchildren, Simran Ladhani and Rachit Ladhani, ensuring the family's commitment to long-term excellence.
The leadership at The Oberoi Group expressed similar enthusiasm for the project. Mr. Arjun Oberoi, Executive Chairman of The Oberoi Group, underscored the company’s dedication to creating extraordinary destinations, while CEO & MD Mr. Vikram Oberoi reaffirmed the commitment to delivering world-class hospitality experiences with strong financial performance.
With planning already underway, construction of both resorts is expected to begin in early 2026. These developments mark yet another milestone in The Oberoi Group’s continued expansion, reinforcing its reputation as a leader in the global luxury hospitality sector.
