Outbound Sedona opens in Arizona’s red rock landscape
Outbound Hotels has opened Outbound Sedona, a reimagined desert retreat in Sedona, Arizona. The 138-room resort opened on May 7, 2026, just minutes from Uptown Sedona. Designed in partnership with The Gettys Group, the property combines modern Pueblo-inspired architecture, wellness-forward amenities and direct access to the region’s iconic red rock landscape. The opening expands the Outbound Hotels portfolio and strengthens the brand’s focus on outdoor-driven hospitality in extraordinary natural destinations.
Outbound Sedona has been designed to reflect its desert surroundings through architecture, textures and colour. The resort channels the character of Sedona’s red rocks with sunbaked materials, warm elemental tones and a design language inspired by modern Pueblo forms. This gives the property a strong sense of place while keeping the experience contemporary and accessible for today’s adventure-focused travellers.
The accommodation offer includes 138 rooms, with categories ranging from king rooms and bunk rooms to the expansive Serenity Suite. Selected rooms include patios, fireplaces and kitchenettes, allowing guests to choose between simple stays, group-friendly layouts and more spacious retreat-style accommodation. This flexibility supports couples, families, friends and outdoor travellers using the resort as a base for exploring Sedona.
Wellness is a major part of the resort’s positioning. The Spa at Outbound Sedona is the brand’s first spa and is designed around recovery, restoration and moments of pause. Opening on June 5, the spa will include four treatment rooms, a retail and lobby area, an outdoor adults-only pool, a dry sauna and a cold plunge.
At the centre of the property is Moonwater, a two-tiered pool retreat oriented toward views of Bell Rock. The space includes hot tubs and fire pits, creating a setting for golden-hour lounging, casual poolside food and drinks, and evening relaxation. By night, Moonwater becomes a place for stargazing and fireside gathering, reinforcing the resort’s desert retreat identity.
The property will also host Moonwater Sessions, a desert-inspired music experience held on selected evenings against the backdrop of Sedona sunsets. This programming adds a cultural and social layer to the resort, positioning Outbound Sedona not only as a lodging base, but as a place for shared experiences connected to the landscape.
Food and beverage will be led by Lucida, the resort’s forthcoming signature restaurant developed in partnership with Folkart Management. The restaurant will offer indoor-outdoor dining and a high-desert menu built around seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and bold Southwestern flavours. Dishes highlighted in the announcement include prickly pear parfaits and mesquite salmon, giving the restaurant a culinary identity rooted in the region.
Adventure access is another defining feature of Outbound Sedona. The on-site Gear Garage offers bikes, trail-ready essentials and local route recommendations, helping guests move easily between the resort and surrounding trails. The property also includes four hard courts for tennis and pickleball, adding active recreation to the guest experience.
The resort is also a stop on the Verde Shuttle, a complimentary hop-on, hop-off service connecting visitors with popular trailheads and scenic viewpoints. This reinforces the property’s role as a gateway to Sedona’s outdoor landscape while making exploration easier for guests who want access to nature without relying only on private transport.
With Outbound Sedona, Outbound Hotels continues to expand its collection of properties in nature-led destinations. The brand’s portfolio already includes hotels in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Mammoth Lakes, California, and Stowe, Vermont, with additional destinations planned in Yosemite, California, and Park City, Utah. The new Sedona resort strengthens the brand’s position in the market for design-conscious, wellness-oriented and adventure-ready hospitality.
