Peachtree prepares AC Hotel McKinney for October
Peachtree Group is preparing to welcome guests to AC Hotel McKinney in McKinney, Texas, in October. The 137-key property will be located in the Craig Ranch district and managed by Peachtree Group’s Hospitality Management division. The hotel has also named Craig Barnett as general manager and Jessica Ely as director of sales and marketing. With meeting space, dining venues and a modern five-story design, the property is positioned as a new hospitality destination for both visitors and the local community.
AC Hotel McKinney will add a contemporary branded hotel to one of McKinney’s growing districts. The five-story property will cover 71,500 square feet and include 137 guestrooms. Its location in Craig Ranch gives the hotel relevance for business travellers, leisure guests and local events. Construction began in March 2024, with the opening scheduled for October.
The hotel will include nearly 3,000 square feet of meeting and event space, allowing it to serve corporate gatherings, private events and local functions. This gives the property a wider role beyond accommodation alone. For McKinney, the hotel adds another venue capable of supporting business activity, social occasions and regional travel demand.
Food and beverage will be an important part of the property’s guest experience. AC Hotel McKinney will feature AC Lounge, a brand-standard social space designed for relaxed meetings, drinks and casual interaction. It will also include Good & Proper Wood Fired Bistro, a fifth-floor restaurant that adds a distinctive dining element to the hotel. Together, these venues are expected to serve both overnight guests and the surrounding community.
Leadership for the hotel has already been put in place. Craig Barnett joins as general manager after two and a half years with Peachtree Group’s Hospitality Management division. His experience includes hotel openings and operations, making him a central figure in guiding the property through its launch phase. Jessica Ely, who joins as director of sales and marketing, will focus on business development, local relationships and market positioning for the new hotel.
The appointments also highlight Peachtree Group’s focus on building a strong operating team ahead of the hotel’s arrival. Steve MacKenzie, executive vice president of operations for the company’s Hospitality Management division, is connected in the announcement with confidence in Barnett’s opening experience and service-focused leadership. Ely’s connection to McKinney adds further local relevance as the hotel prepares to build relationships with businesses, organisations and travellers across the region.
Peachtree Group is led by Principal and CEO Greg Friedman, Principal and CFO Jatin Desai, and Principal Mitul Patel. The company’s Hospitality Management division will manage AC Hotel McKinney, continuing its role in operating hotels developed or connected with the wider group. The announcement follows another recent Peachtree project, the opening of the 220-room TownePlace Suites Palmdale in Palmdale, California, which the company developed and also manages through its Hospitality Management division.
With 137 rooms, a Craig Ranch location, nearly 3,000 square feet of event space, a fifth-floor restaurant and experienced local leadership, AC Hotel McKinney is positioned to become a notable addition to the McKinney hotel market. Its October opening will expand Peachtree Group’s managed portfolio while bringing a new branded hospitality option to one of North Texas’ growing communities.
