The signing ceremony held on 10 July 2025 saw high-level participation from industry leaders including Ding Yongjun, President of Morgan (Cambodia) Investment Group, Oliver Bonke, CEO of Huazhu International, and Zhu Xiaogang, President of Huazhu Asia-Pacific. It celebrated not only the official introduction of Steigenberger Hotel Phnom Penh but also the launch of a strategic asset-light operational model through Merton’s new platform.

Located on Diamond Island in the central business district of Phnom Penh, the hotel is set within the 230-meter tall Morgan Tower and offers approximately 120 guest rooms with 270-degree panoramic views of the Mekong River. Its architectural design uniquely fuses German craftsmanship with Khmer cultural elements, delivering a sophisticated experience rooted in heritage and local character.

The hotel will include standout amenities such as premium dining venues serving both German and Cambodian cuisine, a sky-high banquet hall, multiple meeting spaces, and a comprehensive wellness center featuring a fitness facility, spa, and sauna.

This development represents a crucial entry point into Southeast Asia for Deutsche Hospitality’s flagship brand and provides a valuable platform to promote “German Craftsmanship, Asian Hospitality, and Cambodian Charm.” With Cambodia’s capital positioned as a growing hub for international tourism and investment, this launch is poised to elevate the city’s luxury accommodation offerings significantly.
