Steigenberger Icon Europäischer Hof Baden-Baden Reopens After Complete Renovation
On 14 August 2025, the iconic Steigenberger Icon Europäischer Hof Baden-Baden will officially reopen its doors following a full-scale renovation, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s 95th anniversary. The historic hotel returns not only as a jewel of the Steigenberger Icons collection but also as a key player in Baden-Baden’s luxury lifestyle and cultural scene.
Originally opened in 1930, the Europäischer Hof has been meticulously restored and reimagined by Feuring Hotelconsulting, a company with over 65 years of expertise in luxury hotel development. The new era of the hotel preserves its historic charm while introducing modern sophistication through the interior designs of DK STUDIO GmbH and Bachhuber Contract, creating a refined atmosphere inspired by the natural hues of the surrounding Black Forest region.
The property features 126 individually designed rooms and suites, including seven long-stay apartments, reflecting a commitment to bespoke luxury. Culinary excellence is showcased under the direction of Executive Chef Marcel Traber, with three standout venues: Café de l'Europe, offering elevated urban cuisine; Auerhuhn Lounge Bar, a stylish speakeasy-style venue; and the Luiza Rooftop Terrace & Bar, delivering Mediterranean flair and panoramic views of the city.
One of the hotel’s highlights is The Vault Spa & Suites, a 1,300 sqm wellness sanctuary set in the building’s former bank vaults. Drawing inspiration from Roman bath traditions, the spa features saunas, a steam room, fitness zones, a pool, private spa suites, and holistic treatments.
For corporate and private events, the hotel offers five multifunctional meeting spaces equipped with advanced AV systems and customizable layouts. The Europäischer Hof also houses 700 sqm of retail space, including Germany’s first Porsche Studio, where visitors can immerse themselves in the luxury automotive brand.
