The Gama by Swiss-Belhotel to debut in Kilimani as brand expands across Africa
Swiss-Belhotel International is set to strengthen its presence in Africa with the launch of The Gama by Swiss-Belhotel, Kilimani, Nairobi, the global debut of its newest brand concept. Developed under a management agreement with Albushra Real Estate Limited, the hotel will open within the next 12 months in Kilimani, one of Nairobi's most sought after districts. The project underlines the group's strategy to expand in key African gateways while diversifying its portfolio of contemporary, mid to upscale urban hotels. It also builds on the operator's established footprint in East Africa, where the group already runs multiple properties.
Strategically positioned in a vibrant mixed use neighborhood, The Gama by Swiss-Belhotel, Kilimani, Nairobi will offer 155 well appointed guest rooms that combine comfort with functionality for both business and leisure stays. Guests will have access to two food and beverage outlets designed to cater to all day dining and social occasions, as well as an extensive suite of lifestyle amenities. A fully equipped gym and a rooftop swimming pool will create an attractive leisure offering in the heart of the city, while a dedicated ladies' sauna responds to demand for more tailored wellness facilities in Nairobi's hospitality market.
Recognising Nairobi's growing role as a regional hub for corporate travel, meetings and events, the hotel will feature expansive ballroom and meeting spaces. These facilities are expected to position The Gama by Swiss-Belhotel, Kilimani, Nairobi as a compelling choice for conferences, product launches, social functions and smaller corporate gatherings in Kilimani and the wider city. The location, close to key business districts and major transport links, will allow the property to tap into both local and international demand.
For Swiss-Belhotel International, the signing marks an important step in the rollout of its new The Gama by Swiss-Belhotel brand and reinforces the group's long term commitment to Africa. The company already manages a portfolio of more than 125 hotels, resorts and projects across Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Europe, and the addition of a branded property in Nairobi signals its intention to grow further in high potential African markets. By pairing a fresh brand concept with a strong local partner and a prime urban location, the group is laying the groundwork for a broader expansion of The Gama flag in the region.
