Situated in the heart of Barrio de las Letras, Madrid’s literary quarter, the hotel is surrounded by cultural landmarks such as Prado Museum, Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, Retiro Park, and Plaza Mayor. As part of the Paisaje de la Luz, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Palace is now an emblem of Madrid’s artistic and architectural heritage.

The restoration, overseen by Ruiz Larrea Arquitectura, focused on preserving the hotel's original 1912 design. The iconic stained-glass dome by Eduardo Ferrés i Puig, composed of 1,875 glass panes, has been carefully restored. Beneath the dome, the historic glass palm tree chandelier has returned to its rightful place, enhancing the hotel’s signature aesthetic.

Interior renovations, led by Lázaro Rosa-Violán Studio, celebrate the hotel’s legacy while introducing contemporary elements. The 470 rooms and suites are infused with Madrid’s artistic heritage, featuring hand-painted wallpapers inspired by El Retiro Park, mosaic-tiled bathrooms depicting the Royal Botanical Gardens, and custom chandeliers. The newly designed staff uniforms, created by Spanish designer Juanjo Oliva, add to the hotel’s refined identity.

Dining experiences have been redefined with La Cúpula, an all-day restaurant and cocktail bar housed under the glass dome. Paying homage to past hotel guests, the menu includes Pablo Picasso’s Waldorf Salad and Julio Camba’s Steak Tartare, blending tradition with culinary innovation. The 27 Club, formerly Museo Bar, celebrates the poets of the Generation of ‘27, offering a sophisticated selection of cocktails inspired by historic mixology.

For culture enthusiasts, The Palace offers exclusive guided tours of Madrid’s Literary Quarter, where legendary writers such as Cervantes and Lope de Vega once lived. Guests can also enjoy private morning visits to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, offering an intimate look at masterpieces spanning the 13th to 20th centuries.

With its seamless blend of heritage, luxury, and modern sophistication, The Palace, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Madrid, is set to redefine luxury hospitality in Spain’s capital.
