The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort Debuts, Redefining Luxury in the Dominican Republic
The St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International, has officially opened The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort, its first property in the Dominican Republic. Located along the pristine shores of Cap Cana, this resort introduces an elevated level of elegance and culturally immersive experiences to the Caribbean. Combining signature St. Regis sophistication with the vibrant spirit of the Dominican Republic, the property offers an unmatched blend of tradition, design, and modern luxury.
Set against a backdrop of lush tropical beauty and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort ushers in a new standard of bespoke hospitality in the Dominican Republic. The opening marks a significant milestone for Marriott International, bringing the iconic St. Regis brand to one of the Caribbean’s most coveted destinations. Designed by Acebal Canney Arquitectos and Crafted by CHAPI Design, the resort reflects the island’s natural splendor and cultural depth, with elements like the traditional Dominican “faceless doll” woven throughout the design to symbolize unity and heritage.
The resort features 200 lavish guest rooms, including 36 suites with private plunge pools and expansive ocean views. Interiors are adorned with custom stone tiles, bespoke furnishings, and a serene palette of coastal blues and sandy neutrals, mirroring the nearby sea and cliffs. For the ultimate in luxury, the 6,500 sq. ft. Presidential Suite offers an unmatched accommodation experience.
Guests can enjoy four swimming pools, a dedicated Children and Teens Club, and personalized St. Regis Butler Service. The nearby Punta Espada Golf Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, and attractions like Marina Cap Cana and Scape Park provide a host of recreational and cultural opportunities. The resort’s St. Regis Spa offers 14 treatment rooms and nature-inspired therapies rooted in local traditions, complemented by a state-of-the-art fitness center.
A major highlight is the resort’s culinary program, boasting nine distinctive dining venues. These include Nina Restaurant, led by acclaimed Chef Diego Muñoz, offering flame-inspired dishes rooted in Latin American flavors. The Uma Wine Cellar Room provides an exclusive dining experience, while the St. Regis Bar showcases Dominican culture through omakase bar bites, a signature champagne sabering ritual, and the locally inspired “Quisqueya Mary” Bloody Mary.
Additional venues include The Amber Room, a luxurious cigar and rum lounge with curated pairings and premium spirits, and Cassava, a Latin American restaurant offering all-day dining and weekend brunch. Guests can also indulge at Cielo Mio, a rooftop bar with panoramic views and upscale Mexican-Latin cuisine, and Marola Mediterranean Grill, serving beachside Mediterranean fare. Kawa Coffee Shop and Carey Bay Beach Bar round out the offerings with artisanal snacks and Caribbean-inspired cocktails.
For events and celebrations, the resort features over 7,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor event space, including the Hibiscus Terrace and the John Jacob Astor Boardroom. Spaces are thematically designed to reflect the energy of the merengue dance, the Dominican Republic’s cultural heartbeat.
