Hilton has signed Waldorf Astoria Scarlet Bay, a new luxury resort set to open in 2029 on the sun drenched shores of Greece’s Peloponnese peninsula. Developed under a management agreement with Royal Group Holding, the project will be the first Waldorf Astoria branded property in Greece, joining a portfolio that now spans nearly 20 countries. Overlooking turquoise waters and rugged coastline, the resort is designed for travelers seeking high end beachfront escapes with elevated, personalized service including a dedicated concierge. The signing also supports Hilton’s rapid expansion across Greece, where the company now counts more than 60 trading and pipeline hotels under eight brands, including projects developed through its partnership with SLH.

Set on a historic peninsula known for its mountains, beaches and cuisine, and as the home of Ancient Olympia, Waldorf Astoria Scarlet Bay is positioned to tap into both the region’s cultural heritage and its natural appeal. The resort will offer 121 expansive guest rooms and suites, all with sea views, designed to provide a high level of privacy and comfort. In addition, 13 branded villas will form an exclusive residential component, combining private home style living with the services and amenities of a Waldorf Astoria resort. Architecture and landscaping are conceived to frame the coastline and the island of Spetses, anchoring the property visually in its Mediterranean setting.

Wellness and recreation will be central to the guest experience. The resort’s Waldorf Astoria spa is planned as a dedicated sanctuary for rejuvenation, supported by both indoor and outdoor pools, including a main pool with wide reaching views towards Spetses. A tennis court, fitness centre and kids club will round out the leisure offering, making the property suitable for couples, families and multigenerational stays. These facilities are intended to encourage guests to balance relaxation with activity, in line with the brand’s contemporary approach to resort lifestyle.

Culinary programming at Waldorf Astoria Scarlet Bay will introduce several dining and social venues. Guests will find the brand’s iconic Peacock Alley, alongside a signature restaurant, a beach club restaurant that connects directly with the shoreline, a lobby lounge and a coffee shop. Together, these outlets are designed to deliver a full day to night experience, from relaxed beachfront meals to more formal dining and evening gatherings. With its combination of setting, design and service, Waldorf Astoria Scarlet Bay is set to establish a new benchmark for high end hospitality on the Peloponnese and to reinforce Hilton’s presence in one of Europe’s most in demand leisure markets.
