Wasserturm Hotel Cologne – a hotel in a water tower

This luxurious five-star hotel is housed in a historic water tower in the Old Town of Cologne. The form of the tower, a symbol of seclusion, protection, and safety, does not, however, limit the hotel spaces that provide a sense of spaciousness and grandeur.

Exclusive, unique, one-of-a-kind – Wasserturm Hotel Cologne, a luxurious international-class hotel, is housed in a building that was once the tallest water tower in Europe and is now home to one of the most extraordinary hotels in Germany.

In a UNESCO World Heritage building, one can find an extraordinarily modern yet timeless interior design hidden behind 140-year-old walls. This top-class hotel, designed by interior architect Andrée Putman, was opened in 1990 and continues to showcase its elegant style to this day.

Wasserturm Hotel Cologne presents itself as a work of art that always has new, unexpected discoveries in store. This ethos, designed by the globally acclaimed design studio Goddard Littlefair, can be felt as soon as you step into the distinctive 11-meter-high lobby, where you are warmly and casually welcomed in true Cologne style. The hotel’s design contrasts the massive bricks, lofty ceilings, and geometric patterns with contemporary elegance and touches of down-to-earth charm.

At the heart of the water tower is a circular hub leading guests to the lounge and the adjacent winter garden. Here, hotel guests can start their day with a breakfast featuring regional delicacies, freshly baked bread, and homemade jams. It is characterized by an exceptionally cozy interior and a warm atmosphere. From here, one can enjoy direct views of the private garden, which surrounds the entire hotel with a green ring, helping to create a peaceful oasis in the city. Access to the private garden also includes nine fully flexible meeting and conference rooms, collectively offering 500 square meters of conference space.

The hotel has a total of 88 rooms: 10 single rooms and 44 double rooms. Guests can enjoy access to wireless Internet. The reception offers a hotel safe for valuable items. Guests also have access to the hotel’s spa and gym, which include treatment rooms, a sauna, and fitness equipment.

Other hotel amenities include the Wintergarten restaurant and the elegant Bar Botanik on the 11th floor, serving a wide range of cocktails and snacks.
