WorldHotels launches Backdrop for outdoor-inspired stays
WorldHotels has introduced WorldHotels Backdrop, a new collection focused on outdoor-inspired accommodations and upscale glamping retreats in scenic destinations. The brand is launching the concept with initial properties in Utah, North Carolina and Honduras, positioning the collection around immersive nature-led travel with elevated comfort. The move reflects rising demand for travel experiences that connect guests more closely with landscapes, place and restoration. It also gives WorldHotels a new way to expand in the fast-growing glamping market.
The new WorldHotels Backdrop collection brings together accommodation types such as canvas-tented rooms and riverside cabins set near mountains, coastlines and gateways to national parks. According to the release, the collection is designed for travelers seeking more intentional journeys, particularly guests drawn to experiences that combine the outdoors with a higher level of hospitality and comfort. WorldHotels is tying the launch to broader momentum in the segment, noting that the global glamping market was valued at $3.79 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $7.87 billion by 2033. Within that context, Backdrop is being positioned as a curated platform for stays that feel both adventurous and refined.
The first properties illustrate the collection’s destination-led approach. Zion Wildflower Resort, WorldHotels in Virgin, Utah is located minutes from Zion National Park and combines safari-style accommodation with access to hiking, stargazing and guided desert experiences. Asheville River Cabins, WorldHotels in Arden, North Carolina sits along the French Broad River near Asheville and offers newly renovated cabins with waterfront and mountain views, creating a base for tubing, hiking and mountain biking in the Blue Ridge Mountains. A third property, The Lodge at Pico Bonito, WorldHotels in La Ceiba, Honduras, is set to join the collection soon, adding a rainforest lodge near Pico Bonito National Park with access to jungle trails, waterfalls and wildlife in one of Central America’s most biodiverse landscapes.
Beyond leisure travel, WorldHotels Backdrop is also being positioned for corporate events, retreats and weddings. The release says the properties offer flexible indoor and outdoor venues overlooking natural landscapes, with layouts suited to workshops, dinners, social gatherings and creative sessions. On the ownership side, WorldHotels is presenting the collection as a flexible model for independent outdoor and adventure-led properties, allowing them to join a global portfolio without losing their individual character. Support for owners is set to include a guest management system, purchasing scale, access to the WorldHotels Rewards programme and insurance solutions. Early discussions for future expansion are already reaching beyond the initial launch markets, with destinations mentioned from Phan Thiet in Vietnam to safari settings in Africa and Australia.
