Starwood promotes Shadi Omeish to lead operations across the Americas

Starwood Hotels has promoted Shadi Omeish to Senior Vice President of Operations, Americas, expanding his role at a time of active growth for the group’s regional portfolio. Effective from February 2026, the appointment places him in charge of operational performance across the company’s hotels in the region while also supporting a new wave of openings. The move comes after a decade with the group and a steady progression through senior operational leadership roles. It also highlights the importance of experienced internal talent as Starwood Hotels continues to expand its presence across the Americas.

The promotion reflects both continuity and scale. In his new role, Shadi Omeish will oversee 17 operating properties in the region and work closely with general managers and regional leadership teams to strengthen daily operations, improve overall hotel performance and help guide the next stage of brand growth. His remit also includes support for upcoming openings tied to 1 Hotels, Baccarat Hotels and Treehouse Hotels, underlining how central the appointment is to the company’s operational strategy in the region. Among the projects named in the announcement are 1 Hotel Austin, 1 Hotel & Homes San Miguel de Allende, 1 Hotel Cabo, 1 Hotel Hudson Valley, Baccarat Residences Brickell Miami, Treehouse Hotel Brickell and Treehouse Hotel Miami Beach

Omeish joined Starwood Hotels in 2016 as General Manager of 1 Hotel South Beach before going on to lead 1 Hotel West Hollywood. He later held the roles of Area Managing Director West Coast, Regional Vice President West Coast and Vice President of Operations Americas, the position he had occupied since May 2024 before this latest promotion. His wider hospitality career spans nearly three decades and includes leadership roles at MGM Resorts International, where he served at both MGM Grand and Monte Carlo, as well as close to ten years at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in Amman, Riyadh and Beverly Hills. Earlier in his career, he also worked with Marriott in sales and area management roles across Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. He holds a degree in Tourism and Travel Services Management from the University of Jordan and a Leadership Management diploma from the MGM Leadership Institute, giving the appointment added weight as the promotion of an executive with long international experience across operations, sales and brand-led hotel growth.
